Installation Tech

Mountain Air Conditioning and Heating specializes in maintaining, repairing, and installing residential and small commercial HVAC equipment. We are recruiting for an HVAC Installation Technician at our Ogden, UT location where we provide a positive growth culture and a fantastic team environment.

General Job Function:  To install replacement HVAC systems, new HVAC systems, and HVAC accessories.  Ensure complete customer satisfaction by professionally installing systems in a consistent and quality manner.  Strive to maintain a professional company image in the marketplace through personal attitude, action, and appearance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years HVAC experience (residential/light commercial)
  • Strong technical knowledge, be detail oriented and quality driven
  • RMGA and NATE Certification Preferred
  • Excellent Customer interaction skills
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be well-groomed, drug-free and be able to pass a criminal background check

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install new equipment in a manner that is consistent with the company’s Quality Standards.
  • Instruct and train Installation Apprentices on job duties and skills.
  • Accurately complete and promptly return all job required paperwork on an iPad, as well as the Installation Quality Checklist form.
  • Inform Customers of Company’s products and services.
  • Follow through on unfinished jobs by communicating with customers and the office.
  • Keep Company truck clean inside and out.  Maintain organized Company truck stock to prevent loss due to damage.  Keep vehicle dash clean and free of all items.
  • Keep company vehicle clean inside and out, wash weekly or more as required.
  • Maintain organized vehicle truck stock to prevent loss due to damage.
  • Keep truck dash clean and free of all items.
  • Follow procedures for vehicle maintenance, operation and cleanliness.
  • Attend training meetings.
  • Understand and follow proper diagnostic procedures when servicing and repairing equipment.
  • Grow and develop personal and technical skills.
  • Acquire necessary tools to perform professional HVAC service.
  • Any and all other work-related tasks/duties as directed by Supervisor.
  • Must have knowledge of hazardous chemicals and be aware of the basic ways to detect them.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 100 lb. air conditioning and refrigeration equipment 8 to 10 times each day.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in wet and cold (below freezing) and in extremely hot and humid weather (above 100o degrees).
  • Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • Must have dexterous use of both hands.
  • Must be able to work in a kneeling or squatting position.
  • Must have previous experience using mechanical hand tools.
  • This is strenuous work requiring good corrected vision, hearing, sense of smell, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting and the ability to work without supervision.
  • Must be a non-smoker or be able to refrain from smoking while at work, in company vehicle, and in customer’s homes and businesses.

Service Tech

General Job Function: To perform repairs, maintenance, and warranty work requests, recommend and sell service agreements, accessory items, and replacement systems.  Ensure complete customer satisfaction by professionally servicing and repairing systems in a consistent and quality manner.  Strive to maintain a professional company image in the marketplace through personal attitude, action, and appearance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years HVAC Service experience (residential/light commercial)
  • Strong technical knowledge, be detail oriented and quality driven

    • Perform all service and warranty calls as directed by dispatcher including performing “on-call” service as required.
    • Invoice and collect for work completed at time of service as per Mountain Air flat rates.
    • Follow through on incomplete jobs, order parts, and communicate effectively with customers.
    • Successfully perform all service repairs at a high proficiency level to customer’s and Mountain Air’s satisfaction.
    • Inform customers of company’s products and services.
    • Be successful at passing all quarterly and year end vehicle inventory counts.
    • Discuss equipment repair / replacement options with customers. Call and schedule appointment with a Comfort Consultant from the home when appropriate.
