Signs That You Need a New Furnace

It is important to know what to look for when deciding if it is time to replace your home’s furnace. Here are a few things to consider:

How old is your furnace? The average life expectancy of a furnace is 15 to 20 years. If your furnace is close to this age or older, you may want to start doing your research and shopping around Washington Terrace for a new one. It is a much better idea to replace your furnace as a planned home improvement project rather than an impulse, panic buy when your furnace breaks down. If you are not sure how old your furnace is, call us—we can help you figure it out!

Are your gas and electric bills getting higher? We know that gas prices in Washington Terrace have gone up, but your increase may be due to lack of efficiency from your furnace. With age, furnaces lose their efficiency, especially if they have not been maintained properly. Your furnace may be running longer and working harder to provide the same amount of heat.

Have you had any furnace repairs in the last two years? Furnaces require the most repairs during their last two years of life. If you find yourself having to make costly repairs, it may be time to replace your furnace.

Does your furnace make weird noises? Old furnaces start to make strange noises as they near the last leg of their life. If you have heard any popping, rattling, or squealing noises coming from your furnace, it may be a sign you need to replace your heating system.

Do you feel that some rooms in your Washington Terrace home are warmer or colder than others? If you constantly have to change your thermostat to try and compensate for a faulty furnace, it may be time for a replacement. Older furnaces are unable to distribute air throughout your entire home.

Tax Rebates on High Efficiency Furnace Replacements

Questar Gas offers a residential energy efficiency rebate program for homeowners in Washington Terrace, Utah. You can receive between $200-400 back on high efficiency furnace installation.

If you have an older furnace with an AFUE (annual fuel utilization efficiency) of approximately 60 percent, you could save up to 40 percent on your heating bills by replacing it with a new high efficiency furnace. Your furnace will pay for itself over time with lower utility bills.

If you are experiencing any of the problems above, contact Mountain Air today at (801) 416-2215(801) 416-2215. We would be happy to give you a free estimate for furnace replacement in Washington Terrace, Utah.

Chris came to my house early and diagnosed my hot water tank issue. After I decided to replace the tank, Chris left and went and purchased new tank. He removed the old tank, which was in a very small closet. The new tank was slightly larger and therefore Chris had to re-plumb a sink, add the new tank and put everything back together again. Chris extremely cheerful, helpful and did a WONDERFUL job. I highly recommend.

When we bought our home a little over a year ago, we understood that the furnace would need to be replaced within a couple of years. I was hoping it would hang on through this winter, but the old fella passed quietly one cold February night. I called Mountain Air because there happened to be a magnet with their number on the duct above my deceased furnace, and they had a tech in my home within an hour. Things moved quickly and smoothly from there, and I now have a completely new system. I appreciated the responsiveness and professionalism of every single person I dealt with through this project, from the person who answered my initial call, forward. The installation techs were fantastic: quick, efficient, friendly and their final product looks great and runs perfectly. They have set a new standard for service, in my book, and other service companies will have a high bar to clear if they want a five-star review from me.
