Why Choose a Gas Furnace for Your Ogden Home?

Gas furnaces are just one option for heating your Utah home, but they often offer the best combination of price, performance, and efficiency compared to oil furnaces, electric furnaces, or heat pumps. The benefits of choosing a gas furnace include:

  • Low operational costs: Natural gas, where available, is usually the most cost-effective option for heating, as electricity can be quite costly and oil requires recurring delivery costs and does not burn as clean, increasing maintenance.
  • Greater efficiency: Gas furnaces can be over 97% efficient, edging out oil furnaces, and they compare quite favorably to electric furnaces or heat pumps when overall costs are considered.
  • Improved comfort: Modern gas furnaces offer fast, efficient heating with quiet operation and high air quality.
  • High reliability: Gas furnaces are extremely reliable and require only minimal maintenance to stay running smoothly.

Furnace Installation FAQs

What is the life expectancy of a gas furnace?

Most gas furnaces will last 12 to 15 years before furnace replacement becomes necessary, but some can last up to 20 years. To maximize the service life of your furnace, change the air filter often, have it serviced regularly, and when you notice a problem, schedule furnace repairs as quickly as possible to avoid further system damage.

How often should I tune-up a gas furnace?

A gas furnace should be serviced at least once a year. At Mountain Air, our preventive furnace maintenance services and tune-ups are a great way to avoid furnace breakdowns, minimize your heating costs, and get the longest service life from your system. We also offer maintenance agreements that make the process easy while providing several additional benefits.

Hillary was our sales associate and set us up with a system perfect for our tri level home to fit all our needs and concerns last Friday. She quickly got us scheduled for the following Monday for us to get a new system since ours has been dying for the last two years. Today Scott and Anmond came out and installed a whole new furnace and AC unit that we desperately needed with winter coming. They were professional, polite and great with answering all of our questions. Scott took the time to show us how our new thermostat worked and and advised us to download the app. Overall as usual I’m beyond satisfied with Mountain Air and would definitely recommend them!

We had multiple HVAC companies who have not seen before the disaster situation our furnace and ducts were in. They gave us the best quote from competitors. Staff was professional, friendly and took the job on with a smile. Would recommend to family and friends, will use again in the future.

Great company! Drew was very helpful explaining our options and getting us set up a with a good system without pressuring us.We had our new heating and AC systems installed today and huge shout out to Cody & Scott! They did an excellent job. Cody was very friendly and down to earth and kept me in the loop every step of the way. Scott too - who spent a lot of time out in the cold setting up the AC and took care of some nasty spiders out there. They answered questions about the system and gave us a nice run through before they left. You could tell they took pride in their work, taking extra care to make sure everything was in good shape and done correctly. We are SO glad we chose Mountain Air instead of some of the competitors we looked at.
